Revenues from the tanning tax are estimated to be over $2. SunAWARE urges lawmakers to dedicate some of that money to public education for skin cancer which has reached epidemic levels in the U.S. Some three million cases of skin cancer are treated every year and many dermatologists believe this number doesn't reflect the real number of skin cancers.
